We are Mandi and Colin Woods and have been involved with dogs for a good number of years.

We started in showing by accident really when we bought a black and rust Dobermann bitch primarily as a pet, but we were asked by her breeder if we would be interested in having a go at showing her, so we thought that we would give it a try.

This was our first step in to the dog showing world, and we thank Sylvia Caldicott of Philmont Dobermanns for getting us involved.

Sadly Roxi didn't do brilliantly in the ring although was consistenly place at Open and championship show level, but she really didn't enjoy it so we retried her from the ring so that she could relax at home and enjoy herself, and she went on to produce two lovely llitters of puppies for us.

She was first mated to Ch Chaanrose Don't Crowd me at Jaegerson and produce our own Weglaufen Classic Dream, who despite only being shown a couple of times she qualified for Crufts.

Roxi's second litter was to Supetas Waterloo Sunset JW ShCM and this litter was bred under a bitch on loan agreement with Sylvia of Philmont dobermanns. This litter produced 5 beautiful puppies one being our superb brown male Ruben - Philmont Special Edition from Weglaufen JW.

Ruben was stunning at 6 weeks and was far to good to let go so he stayed with us despite that fact that we had a pending house move from Exeter to South Wales, needless to say our house moved was conducted around showing Ruben at championship shows.

Ruben had great success, he was 1st in his class and Best Puppy in Breed at his first Open show, and 1st in his class at his first Championship show. He then went onto to gain his Junior Warrant at 15 months of age, was twice Best Puppy in Breed at all breed Championship shows and once Best Puppy Dog at Leeds Champ show. He went Best Puppy in Show at Risca all breed Open show. He then went Regional Heat Winner for the Purina Pro Plan/Dog World Pup of the Year Stakes.

In 2006 he attended only 19 shows, mostly championship shows and was awarded 12 x 1sts, 6 x 2nds and 1 x 4th along with Reserve Best Male in Show at the South West Dobermann Club Show.

He has also now sired some stunning litters, we have now taken the decision to retire him from stud as well the showring.

Due to problems with my health sadly we have not been at any shows since April 2007, thankfully things are now better and I am recovering from surgery. We made the decision that we will no longer being showing or breeding Dobermanns, this has come about for a few reasons, though it is through not fault of our dogs.

We are now venturing into our other beloved breed which until now we have only admired from afar.... Keeshonds...we will be welcoming our new show boy Neradmik French by Design (Paris) into our home on the 2nd November 2007 and he will be making his debut in the ring just after Crufts 2008. We are very lucky to have been entrusted with a show puppy from Jean Sharp-Bale (Neradmik Keeshonds), we cannot thank Jean enough for allowing Paris to come to us here at Weglaufen and we now look forward to the next Chapter for Weglaufen with this superb breed.

We are very excited about Paris' future.

Keep checking back for updates on our new future star !!!

From Dobermanns to Keeshonds and we are really looking forward to it.
